About

Everything else on this webpage is abysmally out of date, but I will at least update this page (March 2020):

I am a researcher, writer, and academic entrepreneur working in areas of Christian ethics, church history, and political theory. After completing a Ph.D in 2013 at the University of Edinburgh under the inimitable Oliver O’Donovan, I founded the The Davenant Institute, dedicated to the retrieval and renewal of magisterial Protestant theology and ethics. In addition to continuing to serve as president of TDI, I am a Senior Fellow of the Edmund Burke Foundation, and Headmaster of Loudoun Classical School. My research interests include Christian political theology and ethics—particular in areas of law and economics—and historical theology, with a focus on Reformation studies and the thought of English reformer Richard Hooker.

I hope to update this page more fully soon.
